Sheboygan, a typical American small city, is situated directly
on the west coast of Lake Michigan in the US State of Wisconsin.
The Sister City partnership between Esslingen am Neckar and Sheboygan has existed since 1967.
One of the most important features of the city partnership is the 5-month school exchange between
students from the high schools in Esslingen and Sheboygan. The first student exchange took place in 1970.
The city partnership is also strengthened by reciprocal visits of clubs, choral societies,
music groups, etc.
In Sheboygan the contacts at the citizens' level are organized by the
People to People Organization Sheboygan Chapter, and the VES
has a good relationship and close contacts with this Chapter.
